Mr. Douglas E. Hooks Sr., 79, of Florence passed away on June 29, 2015 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was a member of the Woodlawn Church of Christ; a member of IBEW #558; and a former member of the Florence/Lauderdale Rescue Squad. He also assisted our nation by serving in the United States Naval Reserve.
Visitation for Mr. Hooks will be on Wednesday, July 01, 2015 from 2- 4 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Matt Heupel officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. Hooks was preceded in death by his parents Forrest Hooks and Frances Staggs; daughter, Shelia Dae Ewing; sister, Mary Frances Hooks.
Survivors include his spouse, Marie Hooks of Florence; sons, Douglas Edward Hooks Jr. (Myrna) of Gainesville, GA, David Hooks of Florence; daughters, Pamela Latz and Mary Kelley both of Florence, Terra Butler (Josh) of Rogersville; brother, Barry Hooks (Shelia); sister, Sandra Box, both of Florence; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
