Mrs. Doris Putman Myrick Hayes, 76, of Florence, passed away on July 17, 2016 at Florence Nursing and Rehab Center. Doris was a long-time hairdresser with a large number of clients who knew her to be a woman of strong character who had the ability to bounce back from disappointment. She was loyal to her friends, dedicated to her family, and was always ready to help those who needed her. She will long be remembered by many as one of the “best hairdressers in the business”.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 9:00 -10:30 a.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with a private graveside at Barkley Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by parents, Jessie and Verlie Covington Putman; sisters, Louise Berness, Joyce Putman, Edith Holden and Peggy Putman ; brother, Dennis Putman.
Survivors include her daughters, Angelia Archer of Florence and Rhonda Akers (Peter) of Killen; son, Mark Myrick (Monica) of Hartselle; brothers, Jessie Putman, Jr. of Elgin Crossroads and Gene Putman of Florence; sisters, Bobbie Wright and Verlie Rideout both of Florence and seven grandchildren, Zoe’ Archer, Piper, Rylee, Luke and Amelia Akers and Seth and Skyler Myrick.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Memory Care Unit at Florence Nursing and Rehab Center.
