Bobby Ray ButlerJuly 18, 1941 ~ September 20, 2017 (age 76)
Bobby Ray Butler, 76, of Florence, passed away on September 20, 2017 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ and he retired as a self-employed electrician of Bobby Butler Electrical Service, and then worked part-time at Northwest Shoals Community College. Bobby loved spending time with his family at his cabin in Waterloo. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and being outdoors watching wildlife. Bobby had a good attitude toward life in spite of all his health problems and such a cooperative spirit. He had a willing and unselfish desire to be helpful and to share his knowledge with others. Bobby loved his church family and the visits, prayers, and kindness shown to him.
Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Barry Gilreath, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Willie Butler and his brother, Buford Butler, Jr.
Survivors include his spouse, Carolyn Butler of Florence; daughters, Laura Manion (David) of Florence and Julie Brewer (Mark) of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandchildren, Emily and Sam Brewer and Anna Kate Manion; brother, Bill Butler (Gertrude) of Florence and numerous nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will include: Mark Brewer, Sam Brewer, David Manion, Terry Butler, Mike Sims, Eddie Kelly, Billy Braden, and Tim Inman.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Maintenance Department of Northwest Shoals Community College.
The family would like to thank the doctors and special staff associated with Davita Renaissance Dialysis, all the doctors, nursing, respiratory, and dialysis staff associated with ECM Hospital, and Rheumatology associates, doctors, and special staff.
