Betty Lou “Meme” Cockburn, 86, of Florence, passed away July 26, 2017. She was a member of Underwood Baptist Church and Life Wise.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Donnie McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Cockburn was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ora Rogers; brothers, Dewey, Bobby, Floyd “Bo”, and Carol Rogers; and a sister, Mavis Fairless.
Betty was a caring, compassionate and giving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was loved by all that were lucky enough to have known her.
She is survived by her sons, Terry Cockburn (Lila), and Gary Cockburn; daughter, Gina Cockburn South; sister, Pat Richards; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Curtis, Eric Miller, Tyler Curtis, Matt Terrell, Jeff Miller, and Tim Butler.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Danny McFall for his excellent care of her over the years, and the 6th floor nursing staff at ECM Hospital. Also, special thanks to caregivers, Lisa, Sarah, Melanie, Debra, Mona, and Renee’.
