Betty Joyce Burns, 80, a resident of Florence, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Florence Nursing Home. She was a member of Glendale Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 9 – 11 a.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Joel Caudle officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Deedy Harrison; son, James David Burns, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Joanie Lard Burns.
She is survived by her husband, James David Burns, Sr.; daughter, Mitzy Neal (Kenneth); sister, Sue Box (Thomas); grandchildren, Nickie Killian (Stephen), Brandi Foster (John), Ellen Goodman (Greg), Jamie Holbrook (David), Betsy Berry (Patrick); great-grandchildren, Abbie, Ethan, Harrison, Noah, Emma, and Jay David.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Neal, Stephen Killian, John Foster, Greg Goodman, David Holbrook, and Patrick Berry.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Gentiva Hospice and Florence Nursing Home.
