Betty Ann Barkley Smith, 80, of Florence, passed away on May 12, 2017 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. She was a resident of Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehab Center where she was recently crowned Ms. Mitchell Hollingsworth. She traded that pageant crown for her heavenly crown of jewels.
She was a member of Underwood Baptist Church and a graduate of Coffee High School class of 1955. She retired as a bookkeeper from Mefford’s Jewelers.
Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 (Noon). The funeral will begin at 12:00 (Noon) in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Brother Donnie McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lon and Mary Lee Barkley.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Smith, Sr., son, Bob “Bobby” Smith, Jr.; daughters, Teresa Johnson (Mike) and Lynn Hill (Lane); sisters, Mary Lynn Stutts and Martha Lou Benton(Johnny); grandchildren, Leslie Graves(Davis), Laurie Holder (Cody), Maley Burrus(Hunter), Hunter Smith, Branch and Garrison Hill and four great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Johnson, Lane Hill, Branch Hill, Garrison Hill, Davis Graves, Cody Holder, Hunter Burrus and Hunter Smith.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Mitchell Hollingsworth and the nursing staff on the fifth floor at E.C.M. Hospital.
