Roy Wayne Seay -dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend-passed away peacefully at home in Florence on Thursday, April 11th.
Wayne was born to Roy and Levell Seay in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on March 16th, 1945. He graduated from Russellville High School before proudly serving his country in the U.S. National Guard. In Huntsville, Alabama, Wayne met and married his wife, Jeannie. In 1982, they welcomed their one and only child, Ashley. They settled in Madison, where they happily lived for over forty years. Wayne worked hard to make sure that his family was taken care of and felt loved every day.
Wayne had a wonderful career with Motorola before transitioning into real estate during his retirement, but his true joy was spending time on his family farm in Russellville, Alabama. He loved working outdoors and took great pride in caring for the land and his cattle. Through the years, Wayne enjoyed playing golf with friends and spending time with his family. Being a grandfather to his three grandsons came naturally to him. All three boys loved spending time with "Grandad" on the back porch, talking and laughing. Wayne had a life-long personal relationship with God through his savior, Jesus Christ.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jeannie, their daughter Ashley Beadle (Will), and three grandsons, Hudson, Teddy, And Banks Beadle.
Private services will be held.
